Anna (Clasen) Diederich, wife of John Diederich
She was born 22 June 1814 at Arbach, Province of the Rhineland. She married John
Diederich 21 November 1837 in a civil ceremony at Virneburg, and in a religious ceremony
at St. Remigius Catholic Church at Retterath. John and Anna Diederich
emigrated to the United States sometime between 1843 and 1847 with three children,
Gertrude, Peter, and Michael. They had six more children, John William, Joseph, Mary
Ann, Antone, Mathias, and Theresia, born in the United States. Anna died in June
1879, age 65. This picture may have been taken after John Diederich's death in 1874.
