Received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf cluster also citation for gallantry in action signed Major General Summerall and honory Certificate signed by President Woodrow Wilson. Sent home with a hospital unit 24 December 1918 from Brest France and was discharged 19 February 1919 with disability.
